SMS Employee Assists Security in Carjacking, Kidnapping Incident
Posted 2009-06-10 00:00:00After a recent carjacking and kidnapping incident at Susquehanna Valley Mall, SMS employee David Baker did “Whatever It Takes” to assist with the capture of the offender.
When Baker discovered a set of knives in the men’s room that had one knife missing, he alerted security and stayed with the evidence until security arrived and processed it. State police took the knives, and the offender was eventually captured.
Suzanne Kipitsky, Security Director at Susquehanna Valley Mall, said, “I wanted to let you know that your employee, Dave Baker, was a big help to us last night when dealing with our kidnap/carjacking incident. While cleaning the men’s room, he located a package that contained a knife. It was packaging that should have held two knives and one was missing. He brought it to security’s attention right away. He really was a great team player and we’re lucky to have him on our staff. Please thank him on behalf of security for a job well done.”
Baker received the “Whatever It Takes” Award for his excellent work.
